How Does the CRS System Work?

The CRS system accounts for up to 1200 points which is based on several factors and is applicable for applicants who apply under the Express Entry Program. To become eligible and to enter into the Express Entry Pool, an applicant should score a minimum of 300 points. The factors based on which the CRS points are calculated are listed below:

  • Education
  • Language
  • Age
  • Experience
  • Adaptability
  • Arranged Employment

The applicant will be assessed based on the above-mentioned factors and each factor carries its own points out of which the applicantโ€™s points will be calculated and totalled up. Every month the Canadian government conducts Express Entry Draws based on the CRS cut-off scores. Once the applicantโ€™s profile has been shortlisted, he/she receives an Invitation to Apply after which the candidate can apply for a visa.
Once the applicant receives an ITA, he/she should take care of the steps that are to be followed like Medical Examination, Travel Documents, Verification Process etc., The applicant should know that he/she only has 60 days to apply for a visa beyond which the Invitation to Apply will not be valid.
